EVALUATION:
In the Fall of 2017, I took ARTS 303 – Graphic Design I, for my art minor. At the end of this class, we were tasked with creating a subscription box company and designing the branding for that company. I first had to identify the problem and research what current subscription boxes were selling and what they maybe were not capitalizing on. I discovered that there were not many subscription boxes that provided a monthly subscription to gourmet cheeses, and I being a cheese lover myself, decided to capitalize on this. I started with my action plan which included designing a mood board to represent the overall feeling I wanted to evoke with my company, and I then created a name and logo for my company. After trial and error, I decided on the name Grate Expectations, a play on the book and a cheese grater. I worked through the details of marketing collateral, product packaging design, and company brand story. I used my analytical skills and creative skills to work through the problem of creating the branding for a company and reached an innovative solution.
