DEFINITION:
Social Impact is the effect you have on the community. This is mostly used in terms of the positive effect you are having on the community and how you or your organization is impacting society.

REFLECTION:
I value community service, and throughout middle school and high school, I spent most of my free time serving my community. I volunteered my time in my church’s nursery where I cared for children and taught them valuable lessons from the Bible. I also volunteered every summer in my church’s Vacation Bible School as a group leader and was responsible for first grade children. I impacted my community by providing a free service to teach their children more about Jesus and His love for them in a fun and exciting environment. I have taken part in a mission trip to Costa Rica where we served a local orphanage, providing manual labor as well as our love for the children. In most of my experience with community service, I have served the children of my community. I believe that children are the future and need to be taught now about God’s love for them and instilled with values that will guide their decisions in the future that will ultimately impact our society. It is important to continue to possess a social impact mindset when entering the business world. I will continue to take into consideration how my actions will impact those around me and how I can make a difference in the community.
