DEFINITION:
Making the conscious decision to act according to your values and morals and what society, and yourself, view as acceptable.

CRITERIA:
Honesty, Fairness, Equality, Integrity, Character

EVALUATION:
An instance where I acted ethically was when my boss overpaid me by accident on several of my paychecks and instead of keeping the money and saying nothing, I informed her about the error. I could have easily said nothing, and she might not have ever realized her error. Instead, I chose to do what I thought was the ethical thing to do, which was confront my boss and be honest about her error in payment for hours I did not work. For my honesty in telling her about the mistake, she let me keep the money she had overpaid me. I believe integrity is important and you should hold true to your morals and values, not only in questionable situations, but also in everyday situations.
